Dearest readers,
I will be covering the controversial topic of stem cell research. Located below is an annotated bibliography for sources that I will be using. Stem cells have the potential to become any cell in the body as the host develops, and can also repair tissue through unlimited duplication. These are unique cells because they are "general" cells, and can become organ-specific if needed, which makes them a target of extensive research. Right now, they are a big deal in the scientific community for their ability to heal tissues in one's body. There are, however, ethical issues with this research, and I will be covering this in future posts.
